Coming of Age

Coming of Age

Eyes reflected in a mirror
Black wells of pupil draw me near
Viewing a smaller image of myself
Mirror to mirror brings memories
In the larger perspective of my face,
Lines remember brows lifted in surprise
Or knitted in consternation.
Rays spread from the corner of eyes
And deepen with laughter or tears.
My mouth is surrounded
With the etchings of emotions ,smiles and frowns, words and kisses
Crowned with silver my face speaks,
"I have come of age."
